Scott Barry Painting's going green with Benjamin Moore's Eco-Spec.
Eco-Spec paints have low emissions of the volatile organic compounds (VOC) that deplete the ozone layer and contribute heavily to global warming. Plus, lower emissions paints have less fumes, so Eco-Spec is also a great choice in nurseries or in homes where anyone has respiratory problems.
Although low VOC paints have existed in the past, they often didn't perform as well as their higher VOC counterparts. Those days are over and with the latest technology, called waterborne, low emissions paints now perform at least as well and often better than the old, high VOC coatings.
SBP TIP: Eco-Spec tints perfectly to many of the Ben Moore colors but is not recommended for very deep or dark hues.
